NUIG Chronic Pain Research now Closed
Researchers at the National University of Ireland, Galway, in collaboration with different pain clinics around Ireland, invited members of Chronic Pain Ireland to take part in a research study looking at the effectiveness of different pain relief interventions for different types of individuals afflicted by chronic pain. The research aims to identify whether different preferred individual coping styles can be matched to the appropriate therapeutic strategies for more individualized pain treatment. Researchers predict that taking more personal factors into account when deciding on treatment for individuals presents the optimal approach for coping with chronic pain.
Recruitment for this research is now closed and participants will shortly receive CD packs for the second phase of the study. CPI hopes to publish the findings of this study once the research is completed. Both CPI and NUIG would like to thank all who continue to contribe to our ongoing research efforts into chronic pain which is invaluable if advances towards better pain management strategies are to be made.
