Chronic Pain Research Opportunity

Researchers at the National University of Ireland, Galway, in collaboration with different pain clinics around Ireland, invite members of Chronic Pain Ireland to take part in a current research study looking at the effectiveness of different pain relief interventions for different types of individuals afflicted by chronic pain. The research aims to identify whether different preferred individual coping styles can be matched to the appropriate therapeutic strategies for more individualized pain treatment. Researchers predict that taking more personal factors into account when deciding on treatment for individuals presents the optimal approach for coping with chronic pain.

If you are interested in taking part, which essentially involves answering some questions about your pain, coping skills and listening to some audio exercises for a few minutes each day for two weeks please contact Noreen Lenihan, Researcher on (083) 3901563 or email n.lenihan1@nuigalway.ie Your contribution to ongoing research efforts into chronic pain is invaluable if advances towards better pain management strategies are to be made.

Many thanks in advance

Christina

Delighted to take part, and have contacted Noreen. Without these types of research things will never improve.

Research is now closed as maximum participants for the study has been reached. Participants will shortly receive the CD pack and once again both CPI and NUIG would like to thank all who are taking part in this survey.
